Listings – API

The API tab in PinMeTo is a feature that allows for secure communication between two computer applications. The API (Application Programming Interface) defines a structured way for these applications to exchange information. With PinMeTo‘s API, customers can replicate location data from their own systems in PinMeTo’s services and vice versa, as well as access additional data collected by PinMeTo. The API allows for retrieving and updating location information and various statistical datasets.

Using the API provides benefits such as data consistency across networks and the ability to automate repetitive tasks. The API can also be used to export PinMeTo data for deeper insights and analysis.

There are two types of integrations possible with the API: read-only, where PinMeTo is the source of truth, and read and write, where the customer can either use PinMeTo as the source of truth or continue using their existing solution. However, it’s important to note that some networks have restrictions around automated updates, so data conflicts may need to be resolved in the Listings section before they can be sent out to the networks.
